Update: Honor V9 will soon roll out as Honor 8 Pro in ‘Global markets’

Huawei will be launching another of its premium dual camera phones, Honor V9, in China very soon. Since the phone has already been through the TENNA gateway, we have a pretty reliable idea of what’s coming.

To start with, the Honor V9 will have two 12MP rear cameras – one monochrome and one sRGB. That is to say, the second sensor won’t merely sense the depth of field, but will also help improve image contrast and captured details by gathering more light. This is the configuration which Honor reserves for its high-end phones and that’s exactly where V9 will land.

The handset includes a sharp 5.7-inch Quad HD 2K display and is powered by octa-core Huawei Kirin 960 processor with Mali G71 Octa-Core GPU, 6GB RAM, and up to 128GB expandable storage. The dual SIM phone will also feature Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.0 software.

Honor V9 full-metal body is just 6.77mm thick but weighs a significant 185grams. Of course, the beefy 3900mAh battery contributes its fair share to the heft.

Other notable features include Dual SIM support, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, fast charging, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and 8MP selfie camera.
