Google under the scanner of US FTC Over Android

Google-new-logoFederal Trade Commission of the United States is investigating the allegations levied on search engine giant Google for choking competitors’ access to its Android mobile-operating system.

Officials from the FTC department have taken the note of technology companies who raised doubts on Google intentions. The companies pointed out that on its Android Platform, Google gives more priority self-developed services by limiting others.

Android has also been successful in capturing the major market share in the United States. The as per the market researcher IDC, with a 59.3 percent market share Android is leading the list followed by Apple’s iOS.

Google’s Android has been dominating the mobile world for almost a decade now. In India, more than 95 percent mobile phones are powered by Google’s operating system. The Mountain View-headquartered company is also facing similar probe in India and Europe on the issue of its ascendancy over the internet searches.
