Google TV Streamer 4K With Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos & Redesigned Remote Announced

Just yesterday, we were talking about Google launching a replacement for Chromecast during the Made By Google Event. Seems the company had some other plans Google has already announced the Google TV Streamer 4K device today. The Google TV Streamer aims to replace the Chromecast with a more premium version. It is a sleek device that can also work as a home hub for Google Home and Matter devices. It can sit in front of your Television to make connectivity better with smart home devices.

Google TV Streamer works with Google AI to make personalized content suggestions across all subscriptions and Gemini offers detailed summaries, reviews, and season breakdowns. Watchlists can be curated for every family member as per their tastes.

Google TV Streamer: Price & Availability

The Google TV Streamer is priced at USD 99.99 aka Rs. 8390 approximately. It comes in Hazel and Porcelain shades and will be up for pre-order starting 6th August. The first sale will take place on 24th September via Google Store and other retailers.

Google TV Streamer: Features

Google TV Streamer supports up to 4K HDR resolution at 60fps. The Streamer offers Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG support in terms of video and Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Atmos in terms of audio. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C port, HDMI 2.1 port, Ethernet, and more. It comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage and runs Android TV OS.

Smart home connectivity is equipped via Matter and Thread border router and other features include an ambient mode, home panel, casting and grouping, photos slideshow, voice search, and more. Gemini AI will offer full summaries, reviews, and season-by-season breakdowns of content on Google TV. It weighs 161 grams and comes in two colors.

The Google TV Streamer also allows control of cameras, lights, temperature, and blinds directly from the TV. It can display pictures from your Google Photos library as a slideshow on your TV.

The highlight is its redesigned voice remote that comes with improved ergonomics, a textured back, and an optimized button layout. There is a customizable button on the remote for access to apps or Google Home Panel. Voice search also helps find content and locate lost remotes by ringing when called using Google Assistant or Google Home application.

Google might showcase it during the upcoming Made by Google Event as well.
