Gionee quietly pushed another affordable P series handset, the P7, in India. The new Gionee P7 will be available in White, Latte Gold and Grey colors for 9,999 INR and is primarily meant to cater to offline buyers.

Looks like 5-inch phones are making a comeback in the affordable price bracket, and that’s exactly where the P7 stands out. Apart from the compact HD resolution display, whatever it brings to the table is quite drab. On paper, that is.

There is a 1.5Ghz quad-core CPU with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and 128GB microSD card support, that shall fire Android Marshmallow based Amigo 3.2 UI. For photography, there is an 8MP rear and 5MP front camera.

Also, the dual SIM handset supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 , GPS and houses a measly 2300mAh battery.

The hardware falls short of what you could score from online phones like Lenovo K6 Power and Redmi 3S Prime, but that’s how the online-offline dynamics work.
