Gionee has already handed out its invites for the upcoming MWC scheduled to take place later this week and if one goes by them, the company will reveal a couple of smartphones, namely the A1 and A1 Plus at the event on February 27th.

The names, obviously, do indicate that the A1 Plus would be a bigger and improved (for the lack of a better word) version of the A1. The two are to unveiled at the company’s launch event which would begin at 11 a.m. CET (3:30p.m. IST).

The specifications pertaining to Gionee’s A1 smartphones were confirmed recently, courtesy the benchmarking website Geekbench which threw light on the same.

The Gionee A1 smartphone is set to feature a 5.5-inch full HD 2.5 curved glass display protected by Gorilla Glass on the top. The phone would be powered by a 1.8 GHz Octa-core processor which will be supported by 4GB of RAM.

Running on Android 7.0 Nougat-based Amigo 4.0 OS, the A1 will carry with itself an in-built storage space of 64GB, which can be further extended to a maximum capacity of 128GB.

Coming to the optics, the phone is deemed to feature a 13MP camera on the back with features such as LED flash and PDAF. Up front, there is a mammoth 16MP camera for clicking selfies.

The A1 packs a 4,010mAh battery to keep the things going and features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in its home button alongside an IR blaster.

As far its ‘big brother’ is concerned, it will sport an even bigger display than the A1 but sadly this all we could gather about it, though its other specifications would be more or less similar to its younger version.
