The 21st century can be rightfully dubbed as the era of technological convergence where various brands have come together to facilitate this phenomenon and create a smarter ecosystem for the glocalization of technology. Thanks to this phenomenon, consumers nowadays have more choices in technological peripherals than ever. However, owing to a perfect smartwatch yet seems to be a distant dream. Fret not! OPPO, one of the leading smart device manufacturers across the globe recently ventured into the wearable space and is out with a perfect solution with its new ‘OPPO Watch Series’. This new range of smartwatch comes in two exciting variants 46mm and 41mm which makes it an intriguing range of products that weaves together the juggernaut’s technical knowhow and everlasting passion to improve the consumer experience.

We have got 46mm variant with us and I’m totally amazed with brilliant design. Right of the bat, OPPO Watch 46mm is a fully-featured smartwatch and the supports an industry’s first AMOLED Dual-Curved display which is mostly observed in the flagship smartphones. It leverages Wear OS by Google™ and also integrates Watch VOOC flash charging technology – a proprietary feature of OPPO with more than 2,800 fast charging related patent applications to its credit.

Over the years, smartwatches have become more advanced and better at bridging the gap between our digital and physical realms which has led to people raise the merit of owing a smartwatch. And if you are looking out to buy one, we can straightaway suggest that OPPO Watch is a great option that will make your lives simpler. Let’s elaborate.

Fabulous Design

OPPO Watch is more than just a gadget and it looks phenomenal. OPPO pays meticulous attention to design details and that makes the Watch standout. As stated above, OPPO became the first brand in the world to feature an AMOLED dual curved display on its 46mm watch (something we see reserved only for flagship smartphones) and has a striking 72.76% screen-to-body ratio. Measuring 1.91-inches in size, this is a good quality panel with a sharp 402 x 476-pixel resolution (326 PPI). The screen covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and reproduces inky blacks and punchy colors. Outdoor visibility is excellent too as the display can get 500 nits brightness which can be expanded up to 1000 nits making the screen visible even under direct sunlight.

OPPO further adds a nifty watch face customization option. Users can simply click a photograph of the dress they are wearing and can generate a customized matching watch face using the HeyTap health app. This thoughtful feature should alone make the OPPO Watch remarkably appealing to fashionistas!

Apart from generating custom watch faces, you can also use pictures from family albums as the backdrop, or use one of customizable activity faces from OPPO’s wide collection.

The display is shielded by a layer of SCHOTT Xensation 3D glass and a 19-step polishing process ensures that there are no ridges or services around the edges. OPPO uses a highly corrosion resistant 6-series aluminum alloy frame that’s available in two color choices – Black and Glossy Gold.

The Fluororubber strap is extremely premium and comfortable. OPPO uses a modular strap design that lets users detach them by just pressing a button. The straps can also be replaced by one of several available options based on individual preferences.

To sum it up, the OPPO Watch has a fabulous design and feels incredibly premium. The use of AMOLED display with punchy colors and the option to instantly generate watch faces that match your dress would surely make people want to flaunt this accessory on all occasions.

Excellent battery mileage

One of the major smartwatch peeve points has been their battery mileage. Their compact size leaves limited room for the battery, while features that consumers desire can be quite demanding. Once again OPPO thinks out of the box to address the challenge and arrives at a solution that works with aplomb.

OPPO Watch 46mm includes a Dual-Chip Endurace system that combines two chipsets – the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC and the power-efficient Ambiq Apollo3 chip.

While running in the Smart Mode, the OPPO Watch can last up to 36 hours on a full charge. And while using the Apollo3 Chip-based power saver mode that retains basic functions like display time, route tracking, heart rate, notification, the mileage can be stretched to a whopping 21 days!

We never faced any battery anxiety whatsoever. That’s because there’s always the Watch VOOC Flash charging that we could bank upon to quickly top-up the lost juice. OPPO Watch charges to 46% in just 15 minutes and a full charge takes only 75 minutes.

Smart Software

No watch is worthy of the ‘Smart’ tag unless it’s backed by a proper app ecosystem where developers can pool their ideas and imagination to open up new frontiers and use cases. That’s exactly why OPPO chooses Google™ Wear OS as the base software. This enables access to plenty of apps and services and the Google Assistant™ that can be used to control smart home devices, for reminders, for turn by turn navigation, and more.

The custom interface overlayed on top further uplifts the experience. It is inspired by Color OS software that OPPO uses on its phones. The interface is quite refined and stable and we could easily find what we were looking for.

Comprehensive Health and Fitness tracking

OPPO Watch comes with five exercise sensors and a GPS +GLONASS navigation system, and can accurately track activity stats, monitor heart rate, and map jogging route. Activity stats including step counts, calories burned, workout time, and activity sessions can be viewed in an appealing watch-face with an X-shaped diagram.

The Watch has the option for continuous heart rate monitoring and can alert users (at rest or working out) whenever the heart rate crosses the normal threshold. Sedentary reminders and breathing guidance to help relieve stress proved quite helpful as well.

The watch can further monitor sleep patterns and effectively distinguish between deep and light sleep. Apart from 90+ trackable workout options in Google Fit™, OPPO watch includes 5 additional workout modes – Fitness Run, Fat Burn Run, OutdoorWalk, Outdoor Cycling, and Swimming.  The watch also features a 5 Minutes Workouts app designed for busy professionals who would want a few minutes of solitude and personal time during their otherwise hectic day. Having access to such comprehensive health and fitness data on our wrist motivated us to make the right choices and to develop healthier habits.

OPPO Watch 46mm: A watch we love to flaunt

OPPO Watch perfectly blends style with substance and feels like a complete product. It looks astonishing, has a beautiful AMOLED dual-curved display, and has a long-lasting battery with Watch VOOC Flash charging. The base Wear OS system enables access to a full-fledged app ecosystem and the Watch’s accurate activity and health tracking tools motivated us to make better lifestyle choices.
