Xiaomi today announced its first launch event of 2018 underscored with an ambiguous hint – “5 is coming”.
We covered the announcement a short while ago and concluded that the ‘5’ most probably alludes to the Redmi 5 Plus. However, we have now spotted “Redmi Note 5” clearly written in the source code of the official teaser page of the upcoming phone (multiple times).
This ascertains that the upcoming phone is indeed Redmi Note 5. Xiaomi will most probably rebrand the Redmi 5 Plus (that earlier launched in China) as the Redmi Note 5. Take a look at the source code screenshots below.

Redmi Note 5 Features
The Note 5 in India is expected to feature a 5.7-inch Full-view display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 625/630 octa-core chipset paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage.
The handset has 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP selfie camera, a rear fingerprint sensor, and a massive 4000mAh battery. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and hybrid dual SIM slot.
