The European household appliance manufacturer Dyson has launched its first cord-free mop in India: the WashG1. While the company has made several vacuum cleaners over the years, this is its first product in the country to tackle wet floors and dry debris. However, the complete floor-cleaning solution is priced at Rs. 64,900. So, is the Dyson WashG1 the best product, or is there a worthy competitor offering more value? Let’s find out.

Dyson WashG1 Features Three Hydration Levels
The cord-free wet-floor cleaner allows users to choose the hydration level based on the type of flooring and the extremity of the mess they’re cleaning up. These include low, medium, and high. Once users set the hydration level, the cleaner dispenses water across the 26 points on both of its counter-rotating rollers, which, in turn, are made of dense microfiber material with 64,800 filaments per square centimeter.
Dyson G1 Features Separate Tanks For Clean And Dirty Water
The added filaments increase the surface area, which helps effectively absorb dirty water. While the hand-held mop features a 1-liter tank for storing clean water, it also has a 0.8-liter tank to store the absorbed water. The device also separates any dry debris (with the help of a 500-micron filter) and collects it in a detachable tray for easy access. Simply put, the device stores dirt and water in separate tanks, facilitating easy maintenance.
They glide smoothly on floors, and the machine features two powerful motors (that rotate the rollers in opposite directions). The cleaner head also has caster wheels and maintains a low profile for edge-to-edge cleaning. Last but not least, there’s a self-cleaning mode that flushes the rollers with clean water. Powering the motors is a battery that lasts up to 35 minutes on a single charge and can clean up to 3,100 square feet of area.

Dyson G1 Price And Availability
The newly-launched Dyson WashG1 is available at Rs. 64,900 at the company’s official website and in demo stores across the country. The price includes a two-year warranty and accidental damage protection. As part of the launch, the company is offering extra microfiber rollers at a price of Rs. 1,490.
Is There A More Affordable Cleaning Appliance That Offers Similar Features?
Yes, there is a more affordable and, at the same time, more feature-rich device: the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra robotic vacuum cleaner. The device uses LiDAR sensing technology to create a map of the room you deploy it in and uses powerful suction or hot water to clean the surface.
Further, it also comes with auto-empty, auto-mop, self-cleaning, auto-mop drying, and auto-water refilling features, reducing manual intervention. Hence, if you are willing to spend more on a cleaning appliance, it could very well be the robotic vacuum cleaner from Dreame, which currently costs Rs. 45,990 on Amazon.
