Coolpad Integrates Amazon Alexa In Select Phones In India

Coolpad has become the first OEM in India to integrate Amazon’s Alexa across is phones. The service will be coming to 3 Coolpad phones, which weren’t mentioned in the official release. It is safe to assume that the three phones referred to here are Cool 1, Note 5 and Note 5 Lite for which Coolpad also slashed retail prices quite recently.

Amazon’s Alexa is a virtual AI assistant just like the Google Assistant. If you are absorbed in Amazon’s ecosystem of apps, products, and services Alexa voice assistant should prove useful. Alexa commands let you control Amazon products like Fire TV, check photos, movie trailers, make and receive calls, check for your Amazon order status, make purchases, control media playback within Amazon and other apps, and more.

Syed Tajuddin, CEO -Coolpad India said on the announcement “We are working to immerse more AI and tech into smartphones to make the experience more Intelligent, friendly and beneficial for the customers. Incorporating Alexa in Coolpad smartphones is one such step in that direction. As Coolpad is looking forward to make smartphones more intelligent and helpful with AI, Alexa is a perfect fit. We will be rolling out Alexa in Cool Play 6, Note 5 and Note 5 via an OTA update and our upcoming devices will have Amazon Alexa pre-installed in them. It will definitely make the Coolpad devices even more convenient and helpful for customers.”
