The latest phone emerging from Coolpad and LeEco’s kitchen is the Cool Changer S1, which is a flagship-grade handset that combines the expertise of booth Chinese behemoths Coolpad and LeEco – and for a mid-range price.
The Cool Changer S1 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS in-cell display which is 450 Nits bright and can reproduce 72 percent of NTSC gamut. It is powered by 2.35GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU.
You get to choose between three variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. Coolpad and LeEco have opted for the eMMc 5.1 storage instead of faster UFS 2.0 storage, but that’s perhaps acceptable for the price.
The software part confirms to LeEco. The Changer S1 is running Marshmallow based EUI 5.8.
The 16MP rear camera can shoot 4K videos and Slow-mos @720p. The front 8MP selfie snapper benefits from large 1.4micron pixels and an 80-degree wide angle lens.
Other notable highlights include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac(2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C CDLA audio aided by Harman Kardon amplifier, a fingerprint sensor, and a 4070mAh battery.
