The next version of Android – Android 12 – has been released after months of beta testing by Google. Source code for Android 12 has been released to AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and Google will push the update for Google Pixel devices within the next few weeks.

The next major update for the Android OS is Android 12. It features the new Material You theme, a notification redesign, a new privacy dashboard, and privacy indicators.

What are the features of Android 12 and when will you be able to use it on your device? On our Android 12 update tracker, you’ll see which smartphones may receive the updated operating system.

Android 12 Release Date

Google has released Android 12 “officially.” It follows the release of the fifth beta in September. AOSP has now received the source for Android 12, but the first stable update has not yet been delivered to Pixel devices.

We will see many smartphone manufacturers unveil their plans for Android 12 as soon as the official update is released to Google Pixel devices. By the end of this year, we expect Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and others will be able to offer skins based on Android-12. Google has announced that Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi will get Android 12 later this year.

When will Android 12 arrive?

Your smartphone manufacturer will be responsible for determining when you will receive the Android 12 update. Some take an entire year to release the latest update, while others are quick to release it.

If your specific device is eligible for the update, your chances of receiving it will be determined by the policy for that device. The Android 12 update will arrive in a different time frame depending on whether it is a high-end smartphone or if it was released recently.
