Commenting on the new launches, Mr. Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics, said, “A large number of consumers are still using feature phones or a second hand phones, which provide immense scope and potential for them to upgrade to affordable smartphones. With the launch of the Canvas Spark 2 Plus, we are offering first time users, with a smooth transition at a wallet-friendly price. Our objective is to convert feature phone users into smartphone users, and synthesize technology and affordability in for this device.”

Canvas Spark series has done well for Micromax so far. The domestic manufacturer has sold over 1.5 million so far, largely owing to the ‘value for money’ factor associated with the Spark portfolio. Micromax is finally transitioning to Marshmallow, and that’s a good thing, but we would have liked to see Marshmallow based software with more refined custom skin on top on high end devices like Micromax Canvas 6 and Canvas 6Pro.
