Blackberry’s last in-house designed and developed offering, the KEYone smartphone, has now hit the Indian smartphone market after being out in US and Canada since the last couple of months.

The phone has been designed by Chinese ODM TCL (which now holds rights to manufacture and distribute BlackBerry phones), and was formally unveiled at this year’s MWC held in February in Barcelona.

Coming to the phone’s specifications, it is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, and retains the iconic BlackBerry physical Qwerty keypad, albeit in a ‘smart’ version wherein each key can be used to open most used contacts and apps.

The keyboard can also be used as a touchpad, allowing the users to easily navigate homepages and web screens.

Other than that, it has a 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt ROM (that can be stretched till a maximum of 2TB). The resident OS is the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat, while the phone sports a 4.5-inch HD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Coming wrapped in a metallic frame (with a textured back), the KEYone has a fingerprint sensor that has been embedded into the spacebar of the Qwerty keypad, while a 3,505mAh battery (with QuickCharge 3.0) has the job of keeping it alive.
