BlackBerry Evolve, Evolve X launched in India: Price, specifications and features

Optiemus Infracom, the licensee to sell BlackBerry phones in India, Nepal, Srilanka, and Bangladesh, has launched BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X in India. Both of these Evolve series smartphones are launched close on the heels of BlackBerry Key2 launch in India.

The major difference between the Evolve series and Key2 is that while the later came with QWERTY keyboard the former embraces an full-touch display. Both the Evolve and Evolve X have been designed and made in India.

The new series is being seen as the replacement to company’s mid-range DTEK series. These smartphones were initially rumored to go on sale in other markets as well.

BlackBerry Evolve Features

BlackBerry Evolve is the cheapest of the two phones that company launched today. The smartphone has aluminum unibody design with dual rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back.It houses a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution.

The smartphone rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.

As for the optics, the BlackBerry Evolve is fitted with a setup of 13-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual rear cameras with 2x optical zoom feature. On the front, the smartphone includes a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and a flash.

The phone runs on Android Oreo which has been given BlackBerry flavor with a suite of security applications and improved BlackBerry launcher that offers light and dark theme.

BlackBerry Evolve price and availability

The BlackBerry Evolve India price announced at the launch is at Rs 24,990. The phone will be available on Amazon India. It is said to go on sale by the end of August.

BlackBerry Evolve X Features

The BlackBerry Evolve X is a more polished version of the standard Evolve smartphone. The Evolve X features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile processor. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The BlackBerry Evolve X also features a dual camera module and combines 12MP and 13MP sensor. It too offers 2x optical zoom feature. As for the selfies, it gets the same 16-megapixel selfie camera from the Evolve along with front LED flash.

Blackberry Evolve X price in India availability

The Evolve X is also an Amazon exclusive and will go on sale from mid-September in India. It is priced at Rs 34,990, therefore it will be competing with OnePlus 6, Zenfone 5Z and few others.
