Black + Decker, the renowned American brand known for its power tools and home appliances, has announced its entry into the Indian market with a range of large appliances. Through a licensing partnership with Bengaluru-based Indkal Technologies, the premium brand has launched washing machines and air conditioners tailored for Indian consumers.

Amit Datta, Commercial Director Licensing at Stanley Black & Decker, expressed the brand’s commitment to meeting consumer needs and simplifying household tasks. “As a global leader in home products, we continuously strive to expand availability in the region,” he stated.

This marks Black + Decker’s inaugural foray into the Indian household appliances market, which is estimated to be worth approximately $80.95 billion in 2023, according to Statista.com. On Tuesday, the brand unveiled a lineup comprising two front-load washing machines, a top-load washing machine, and three air conditioner models.

Speaking about the growing demand for large appliances, Anand Dubey, CEO of Indkal Technologies, highlighted the rapid growth in the penetration of washing machines and air conditioners in recent years. He emphasized that consumers now seek high-quality products and identified Black + Decker as a brand that consistently innovates to meet evolving consumer needs. Dubey further emphasized the brand’s focus on craftsmanship and personalization, emphasizing its aesthetic appeal and exceptional performance.

The Black + Decker washing machine range includes a 6 kg and 8 kg front-load model, as well as a 7.5 kg top-load model. The front-load models feature a BLDC motor, advanced Tub on a Hex-Net crystal design, and a triple velocity jet system. Additionally, these machines offer fabric-specific smart wash programs, built-in heaters, and hygienic drum cleaning.

In terms of air conditioners, Black + Decker introduces 1.5-ton and 2.0-ton variants. The 1.5-ton model comes in two options. The new air conditioners boast a sleek and minimalist design, incorporating features like the Infinity Impeller, CAD Sensor, Quad-Convertible, and R32 Eco-Friendly Refrigerant.

Starting from June 3, consumers can find the Black + Decker washing machines and air conditioners on popular e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, as well as in select retail stores. The brand aims to provide Indian consumers with appliances that offer both superior design and performance.
