Indian e-retailer, Flipkart, debuts in the smartphone business with the newly launched Billion Capture+. The Made in India smartphone will be available across the country in two variants (Shipping starts from November 15 onwards) for Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 12,999, respectively.
Prior to that, the phone has entered into a virtual battle against its closest rival Xiaomi Mi A1 with which it shares an awful lot of similarities. Let’s compare the two to know if Billion Capture+ manages to deliver similar value at lower price.

Design and Build
Both Mi A1 and Billion Capture+ sport a 16:9 display flanked by thick bezels, top-left-corner aligned dual- rear cameras with dual-LED flash and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Mi A1 is, however, slimmer and lighter and flaunts a full metal unibody design (unlike the metal + plastic construction of the Billion Capture+), all of which make it a lot more premium.
There is another visible difference between Flipkart’s phone and Xiaomi device, which is the placement of navigational buttons. While Billion Capture+ promotes on-screen buttons, the Mi A1 sports capacitive buttons.

Display
Face up, both smartphones sport a 5.5-inch 1080 X 1920 Full HD display, capable of rendering crisp texts and vibrant colors. It’s difficult to define a winner here as both displays have equal size and share the same amount of pixels.
Out of the two, we find that Mi A1 display has a slightly better dynamic range and contrast.
Software and Performance
Both Billion Capture+ and Mi A1 comes running on stock-Android Nougat, out of the box, and is powered by 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The real-time performance of both the phones is similar unless you go for Billion Capture+ 3GBRAM/32GB storage variant. The processor is powerful enough to handle most tasks and even some heavy games with ease.

The software on both the phones is destined to be upgraded to Android Oreo in the later stage. For Mi A1, however, upgrades will be handled directly by Google. In fact, it’s a good contender for the Android P upgrade as well.
Camera and Battery
Let’s jump to the area, which has become the driving force for the contemporary smartphones.
Both phones happen to be a dual-rear camera smartphone. The Billion Capture+ uses two 13MP sensors, one color and one monochrome, to gather more light in order to enhance low light shots. In comparison to this, the Mi A1 includes two 12MP sensors with 26mm, f/2.2 aperture, and 50mm, f/2.6 aperture, Lenses respectively for 2X lossless optical zoom. 
Out of the two, the camera on the Mi A1 has a clear edge. The images clicked are better on the A1 both in low light and in outdoor lighting.
As for the battery, the Billion Capture+ will give you more battery back up, thanks to its 3500mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 charger, as compared to Mi A1 non-fast charging 3,080mAh battery. The Mi A1 doesn’t have support for fast charging either.

Verdict
The Xiaomi Mi A1 certainly has an edge over Billion Capture+, but if you are restricted by a budget, the Billion Capture+ is also worth considering.
Who should buy the Billion Capture+? The Billion Capture+ benefits from a bigger battery and fast charging. If you are restricted by a budget, you can consider the base 3GB RAM variant that costs significantly lesser.
Who should buy the Mi A1? If you can extend your budget to 15K, the Mi A1 that offers a better camera and better design than the Billion Capture+ is what you should opt for.
