BGMI fans, there’s some interesting news for you as Krafton might soon be unveiling a ‘Lite’ version of the popular battle royale game BGMI in India. BGMI Lite would be a treat for gamers with low-end devices as it would require fewer resources and run well on their smartphones without much hit on the fun.

Through a poll on their official Discord channel yesterday, Krafton teased there could be a Lite Version of the Battlegrounds Mobile India in the works.

What did the Poll ask?

Poll Conducted on the discord channel

The official channel of BGMI asked the players why they want a Lite version of the game to be released. The poll had 4 options to choose from-

  • I can’t play BGMI on my low-end device.
  • I can play BGMI, but I’ll have better frame rates and performance in the Lite version on my device.
  • I spent money in Lite version and want to transfer my data/inventory.
  • I like the maps and skins in the Lite version.

Although you might argue this as just a normal viewers poll, popular e-Sports gamer Abhijeet “Ghatak” (via SportsKeeda) claims that the Lite version will be launched by December 2021.

“Players can expect good news with regards to the release of BGMI Lite soon. It might arrive by the end of December or sooner!” Abhijeet said.

Ever since the poll was put up, gamers have voiced strong opinions about the return of the lighter version of the game via various social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

BGMI Lite Requirements (expected)

BGMI

If it is launched, then BGMI Lite will mostly have the same set of hardware and software requirements as PUBG Mobile Lite. This will include a minimum of 1GB RAM, 600MB of free storage, and a device running at least Android 4.0.3. The PUBG Mobile Lite app also included smaller maps with 60 players in each. We won’t mind if something like that also comes as a part of BGMI Lite.

There is no news about whether the Lite version of the app will be launched for iOS too or just Android.
