PUBG mobile game is finally announced to be here in India renamed as ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India.’ The official confirmation of its arrival has put a rest to various rumors and speculations circulating over the Internet. Krafton, the developer of Battlegrounds Mobile India, has published a press release on its newly registered website about which we had reported earlier. The developer announces that the game will be available for free to play in India only. The South Korean video game maker has also assured to offer a ‘world-class AAA multiplayer gaming experience’ on smartphones.

This news should come as a respite for all PUBG fans in India. For the unversed, the game was banned in September 2020 in the country over data breach issues.

Krafton is gearing up for its own esports ecosystem for Battlegrounds Mobile India with the inclusion of tournaments, leagues, and in-game events like outfits and features. Prior to its launch, the game will require pre-registration, the dates of which will be announced later. The game developer will also do partnerships for building the in-game ecosystem for regular content and events.

Since PUBG was banned on the grounds of data security, Krafton has specifically mentioned ensuring the data protection and security of its users. Krafton corroborates that data collection and storage will be done by complying with the Indian rules and regulations. Since the game is India-exclusive, it will have dedicated servers within the country itself.
