Baahubali Prabhas Joins The Gionee Bandwagon As Brand Ambassador

South Indian actor Prabhas, who played the titular role of Baahubali in S.S. Rajamouli magnum opus, has come aboard the Gionee as a brand ambassador of the smartphone company in India.

With its association with the current blue-eyed boy of the Indian film pantheon, Gionee India now has a host of young icons to boast of as their brand ambassadors.

Joining Prabhas in the list are Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, actresses Alia Bhatt and Shruti Hassan, and actors Dulqueer Salman and Diljit Dosanjh.

Other than that, the company itself acts as principle sponsor for the Bengaluru as well as the Kolkata franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) – Royal Challengers Bengalore and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

The Chinese smartphone company has established a formidable fan base in the country since making its debut five years ago and currently enjoys more than a patron span of around 1.25 crore users.

The company has won over their Indian customers with the promise of bigger battery and efficient selfie-taking smartphones. True to that, their marketing prowess can be gauged with the success that their #Selfiestan campaign has managed to secure.
