Amidst recent reports that a member of Asus‘ new Zenfone 4 series of smartphones would be coming out on August 17, live images have emerged of what is being called the company’s Zenfone 4 Pro device, giving an insight into how it looks like.

The source behind these images is an Italian website called DDay.it, in a post that also let out a few (unconfirmed, as of yet) specifications of the smartphone, alongside the images.

According to the folks at DDay, the Zenfone 4 Pro is set to come out with a set of twin 21MP cameras at the back, with support for 2X lossless optical zoom (although there is still some serious uncertainty as to whether the 21MP resolution is for one of the sensors, or both).

As for the pics, they have let out that the phone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, come clad in an aluminum unibody finish, and have a home button-embedded fingerprint sensor out front.

Further, the website says that the phone would sport the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset as the powering source, and will have a 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM as well.

This speculation has aroused from renowned leaker Ronald Quandt, who put up some pics of the phone’s demonstration at a press event in Italy on Twitter, where the Taiwanese company and chipset maker Qualcomm had partnered to showcase the aforementioned feature.

Although Asus does have an event scheduled on August 17, it appears unlikely that it will feature the Zenfone 4 Pro, as the reports have billed its tentative launch date as sometime in September (around the time the Zenfone 4V will also be released).

Nonetheless, Asus sure has its hands full, with the company preparing to release as many as six separate members of its Zenfone 4 range, with the Zenfone 4 Max having already been announced.
