Apple recently launched Watch Series 7 which comes with faster charging and a larger display size but at the same price as its predecessor. Now, new reports are trickling in which state that the tech giant has already started working on Watch Series 8, which will launch in 2022. What is making news is the rumor that Apple’s Watch 8 might have a blood glucose monitoring sensor in the list of health monitors.

Apple Watch 8 Series Expectations

Apple Watch Series 8 could be launched at the grand iPhone 14 launch event of the company, which means there’s almost a year to the device. The latest report by MacRumors states that the company is planning to include a new Blood Glucose monitoring sensor in its Series 8 smartwatch. Furthermore, the suppliers of Apple also seem to be working on short-wavelength infrared sensors that will be fitted at the back of the wearable.

The new blood glucose sensor will measure the sugar levels in the wearer’s body. A report in May 2021 also claimed that Apple plans to launch its next watch with blood pressure and alcohol level monitoring too in 2022, but nothing has been confirmed in this regard.

Apple Watch 7 Series

As of now, Apple has added blood glucose highlights in the Health app of the iOS 15 as a health metric. The user will be able to provide data by using external hardware and the introduction of this new feature would be useful for many users. However, Apple still reasserts that such health features on its watch are not to be fully relied upon. And so one definitely needs to consult a doctor if they feel or find any symptoms.
