Once again Apple has managed to grab everyone’s attention with the revelation of its latest generation of iPhones – the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Pulling down curtains on all the speculations, Apple CEO Tim Cook took the center stage on Wednesday to unwrap iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in an event in San Francisco. Here are 6 things about the latest generation iPhones which we consider you should definitely know.

iPhone 6S and 6S Plus

Design:

Like all Apple’s “S” series phones, these new iPhones also looks identical to previous generation phones from the exterior. However, Apple has tried to reinforce its built quality by using superior quality aluminum “7000 series,” which is generally used in the field of aerospace. Apple team also claims that the latest iPhone models consist a much sturdier screen glass, which has been re-enforced chemically. The new apple phones will be shipped in four colors including gold, silver, space gray and all new rose gold metallic finish option.

RAM:

For the first time in the history of iPhones, Apple has moved beyond one 1GB RAM. iOS developer Hamza Sood has cleverly discerned that the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus include 2GB RAM. Over the years Apple phones have been well renowned for their swift performance, now that the tech-giant has decided to include 2GB in iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, we can expect even better multi-tasking on iPhones and iPad Pro, which Apple is also projecting as a desktop alternative.

3D Touch:

With iPhone 6S and 6S plus, Apple has said good-bye to industry standard ‘multi-touch’ panel. The multi-touch panel offers an ability to multiple touch and support feature like pinch to zoom. However, with 3D touch – a pressure sensitive display, Apple has added an additional dimension to the way we use screens of our phones. 3D touch display lets you take a peek the content with just a light tap. Press softly to preview a photo, email, webpage or other content, and press with little firm hands to open the content. Now, one can send a message or take a selfie with just a soft touch from the home screen.

A9 Processor:

With new iPhones also debuts Apples’ latest 64-bit architecture based A9 chipset along with M9 coprocessor. As per the company claims, this A9 processor process is about 70 percent faster than its predecessors. In terms of GPU performance too, it performs 90 percent faster than the A8, all with gains in energy efficiency for great battery life.

Camera:

Finally, Apple has also decided to significantly add more megapixels to its primary iSight camera to allow you capture ever so beautiful images of precious moments of your life. After persisting with 8MP sensor for past four years, apple has bumped up the IPhone 6S and 6S plus camera sensor to 12MP. With this new camera, the 6s duo could capture 50 percent more pixels in comparison to its older brother iPhone 6. Apart from still photos, this upgraded camera is also capable to capturing 4K videos. A cool ‘live photos’ feature is also added which create a 1.5-second video by capturing images before and after user click the shutter button.

The photo quality front camera has also been improved significantly with the help of elevated 5MP camera. Apple tries to compensate front flash with on-screen flash to deliver brighter selifes. Apple has named this technique as ‘Retina Flash’ and claims that offer threes times brighter lighting than true tone flash.

Faster Touch ID:

According to Apple, the fingerprint sensor fitted in IPhone 6S and IPhone 6S plus is tweaked to perform two times faster than its precursor.

The prices of IPhone 6S And IPhone 6S Plus remain unchanged compared to their predecessors for the US customers but so far, Apple has kept their lips tight on iPhone 6S and 6S Plus price in India or a launch date.
