UPDATE: The Apple event poster discussed below has turned out to be a fake. It was all a prank orchestrated by X user @lorevfx. They crafted the poster using Figma and enhanced it with AI-generated textures to give it a realistic look.

Here’s how the story originally unfolded:

It’s that time of the year when both enthusiasts and critics are waiting for the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple to unveil the next iPhone. Generally, the company announces new Apple products in September. In fact, the company tends to host launch events on Tuesdays, a theory that is true for all models, from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 13 (with the iPhone 14 being an exception) and the iPhone 15.

Anyway, the conversation around Apple’s next launch event has caught fire on the internet as a leaked iPhone 16 launch event poster is doing rounds on X (formerly known as Twitter). Let’s discuss the details in the poster and see if they tally with what we already know about Apple’s September events.

iPhone 16 Release Date (Leaked)

According to known tipster Majin Bu, Apple could host the iPhone 16 launch event on September 10, 2024. Bu shares an image of what looks like the official poster for the Apple event, with the tagline “Ready. Set. Capture.” Below the tagline is the formal invitation, which reads “Please join us in person for a special Apple Event at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park.” Below this, the poster mentions the date and the time: 10:00 AM PT (10:30 PM IST). The tipster writes that this “should be the cover of the invitation” the company sends to publications.

However, he also mentions that he has no way of verifying whether the information is real or not. Given that hype around the iPhone 16 series is on the rise, and we’re already in the second half of August, there’s a good chance that the date is indeed true. Further, it also goes well with our theory of Apple hosting launch events on Tuesdays, as September 10 is a Tuesday. Yes, this is all very exciting, especially for those who wait for the company to drop new hardware, but ultimately it is a rumor. Readers should take it with a pinch of salt.

What To Expect From The Upcoming Apple Event (September)?

Along with the new iPhone lineup, the giant could also unveil new Apple Watch Series 10, Watch Ultra 3, and AirPods 4. Most recently, some rumors suggested the presence of two new AirPods models in the pipeline, which is quite interesting. Along with the hardware, the company should also release iOS 18’s public build, albiet without Apple Intelligence. The new iPhone lineup should consist of four models, including the regular iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
