Usually, Amazon Prime membership provides a mix of shopping and streaming benefits like early access to the Great Indian Festival or Prime Day Sale, free one-day deliveries, access to Prime Video, and Prime Music. However, its price, Rs. 299 per month or Rs. 1,499 per year, could be too steep for some users, especially those who just want shopping-related benefits. To tackle this, Amazon India has launched a new Prime Shopping Edition, a membership that comes at an affordable price.

Prime Shopping Edition For Android Users

Amazon Prime Shopping Edition is only available on the company’s app or mobile browser on Android phones. The membership’s benefits include unlimited free one-day deliveries on more than four million items, early access to shopping events, and five percent cashback on Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card. With the membership, Amazon is looking forward to expanding the number of Prime members in India.

Limitations Of The New Membership

However, users should note that this plan doesn’t include Prime Video and Prime Music, implying that users won’t be able to stream movies or listen to their favorite music app using Prime Shopping Edition. From what it looks like, the membership makes sense for people who don’t consume any audio/video content via Amazon streaming services and are limited to the shopping app.

Amazon’s New Membership Costs Rs. 399 A Year

Amazon Prime Shopping Edition should also benefit users who wish to purchase a discounted item from the Great Indian Festival Sale but don’t have a Prime membership. Regarding its price, the shopping-only variant of Amazon Prime costs Rs. 399 a year in India, which is a small price for the deals available on the platform.
