Amazon Cloud-Based Gaming Platform to Launch Next Month

Online gaming isn’t quite there yet, but behemoths are still betting on it to be the future. Amazon has been working on its Google Stadia -alternative for a while and the first game from the project, allegedly code name of Project Tempo, is due for an imminent release.

Amazon is already working on its first science-fiction shooting game called Crucible. This game is being developed by Relentless studio in Seattle in which Amazon has been investing for a long time. In addition to Crucible, NYTimes reported that Amazon is collaborating with another Irvine based game studio to develop its next multiplayer game named ‘New World’.

As reported, Amazon’s vice president for game services studio Mike Frazzini said,” The big picture is about trying to take the best of Amazon and bringing it to games. We have been working for a while, but it takes a long time to make games, and we’re bringing a lot of Amazon practices to making games”.

Amazon is all set to compete with its rival Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud who have already claimed some cloud-based gaming ground. Amazon is integrating its cloud computing technologies into its video gaming platform to leap ahead. The American firm has already developed a game processing engine called Lumberyard comprehended with Amazon’s cloud computing potential. Reports suggest that Amazon is also seeking to develop a live streaming service with Twitch for seamless interaction within the games.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, an early version of Amazon’s Project Tempo may be introduced to cloud gaming market platforms.
