Alcatel Idol 4 Will Retail With VR Bundle and JBL headphones For 16,999 INR

Alcatel Idol 4, which is the same phone as BlackBerry DTEK50 minus the BlackBerry’s Android vision, is now available in India for 16,990 INR. A pair of JBL headphones have been bundled in the peculiar Idol 4 box that doubles as a VR headset.

The handset is just 7.1 mm thick and is quite light at 135 grams. The circular key protruding from the sides, is the ‘Boom Key’ – a multi-function key that can be used to trigger actions like image capture, burst mode capture, to optimize audio experience, for changing video playback, or to even fire nitro while playing Asphalt 8.

Talking of raw hardware, the Idol 4 has a 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD display and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor that is aided with Adreno 405GPU. Then there is 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and provision for adding up to 512GB of secondary MicroSD card storage.

For photography, there is a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f2.0 aperture, PDAF, and an 8MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens. The software is Android Marshmallow.

The Idol 4 employs dual speakers that can output 7.4 watts and are embellished by Wave MaxxAudio technology. Other highlights include 4G LTE, dual band Wi-Fi 802ac, NFC, USB OTG and 2610mAh battery.

You can buy Alcatel Idol 4 in Gold, Metal Silver and Dark Grey colors for Rs. 16,999 exclusively from Flipkart. Or you could spend a few more thousand for BlackBerry’s version of the same phone.
