Kia, the Korean automaker, unveiled the all-new 2026 Seltos at a launch event in India. Compared to the outgoing model, the new-generation Seltos offers a host of new features and specifications, making it more than just a facelift. The mid-sized SUV is now longer, with a wider wheelbase and track, resulting in more space in the tech-loaded cabin and a three-spoke steering wheel.

2026 Kia Seltos announced in India

The newly announced 2026 Kia Seltos will be offered in three lineups: Tech-line (HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTX, HTX (A)), GT-Line (GTX, GTX (A)), and X-Line. As always, HTE is the baseline variant with a limited number of features, while the GT-Line and X-Line should offer all the fancy new additions, perhaps wrapped in different interior and exterior options (a trend also seen on the current models).

Currently, the 2025 Seltos starts from Rs. 10.79 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the HTE (O) variant. However, the upcoming Seltos could command a premium of around Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, owing to improvements in its dimensions and feature list. Hence, the baseline HTE variant could range from Rs. 11.50 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom).

The top-tier X-Line trim could cost around Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 21 lakh (ex-showroom), and the on-road price could be around Rs. 23.50 lakh to Rs. 24 lakh in India.

2026 Kia Seltos: Exterior & Interior Upgrades

  • Length: 4,460mm (95mm longer)
  • Wheelbase: 2,690mm (80mm longer)
  • Width: 1830mm (30mm wider)
  • Boot Capacity: 447 liters (14 liters bigger)

Before we begin with the car’s looks, it is worth noting that this is Kia India’s first car to be based on the globally available K3 platform. On the front, the 2026 Kia Seltos flaunts a completely revamped bumper.

It still features the company’s iconic tiger nose grille, but it is noticeably bigger and bolder than the one on the outgoing Seltos. Toward the end of the grille are the new parallel-placed vertical DRLs, followed by the largest one at the extreme ends of the fascia. The new headlight setup is integrated into the DRL unit.

Toward the bottom, you’ll see air dams and silver cladding, with the fog lamps (LED, reflector-based) on the side. The cladding that begins toward the end of the fog lamps runs throughout the exterior of the car until the rear, where it merges with the silver cladding. Regarding the 2026 Seltos’ side profile, it is characterized by 18-inch aero-style alloy wheels (different styles across trims), flush door handles (first on a Seltos), blacked-out A, B, and C pillars, and non-functional roof rails.

  • Colors: Imperial Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Gray, Morning Haze, Pweter Olive, Ivory Silver Gloss, Magma Red, Frost Blue, Glacier White Pearl

On the back, the Seltos features a crown-shaped LED taillight, with Kia’s logo, aggressive cladding at the bottom, and the car’s badging. Moreover, the new-generation Seltos has a more angular look, giving it a muscular, aggressive on-road presence. While those were the details on how the new car looks, it is worth noting that the Seltos is 95mm longer overall, has an 80mm longer wheelbase, and a 30mm wider cabin, which should lead to a significant increase in available cabin and boot space.

Inside, the Seltos gets a new three-spoke steering wheel (similar to the EV9’s but with a different base) with new traction and drive-mode buttons. Then there’s the 30-inch Trinity display, which includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and infotainment screen, and a 5-inch HVAC control touchscreen in the center (similar to the Syros).

The multi-tiered dashboard consists of the projector-based heads-up display at the top, the middle tier with the screens, and the bottom tier with the physical switchgear, which includes controls for the infotainment screen and the climate control system. You get up to three USB-C ports in the front and two at the rear.

Other features include power-adjustable driver’s seats with memory, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof (visually smaller than the one we’ve seen on the Tata Sierra), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear sunshades, a 360-degree camera, 64-color ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system. New dual-tone leather upholstery is also available.

Additional features include a new smart key with proximity functionality, an NFC-based digital key for Apple and Samsung users, 91 connected-car features, and 3 years of OTA updates. Obviously, not all the features will be present on the baseline trims.

2026 Kia Seltos: Safety Features

First and foremost, the upcoming Seltos includes Level 2 ADAS. Other safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system, and side parking sensors (in addition to the four at the front and rear).

2026 Kia Seltos: Rivals

The new-generation Kia Seltos rivals popular offerings in the segment like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and the MG Astor.
