13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 Announced with New Magic Keyboard; Starts at Rs. 122,990 in India

As expected, Apple has launched its 13-inch Macbook Pro laptop. The 2020 edition of 13-inch MacBook Pro ditches controversial Butterfly keyboard for a Magic Keyboard. With this launch, now Macbook’s entire lineup has switched to back to tried and tested scissor keys in Magic Keyboard.

13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 variants and India price details

Apple has decided to sell the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 in India for a price of Rs 1,22,990. Obviously, that’s the price for base model which comes with 8GB RAM +256GB storage. Here’s the complete list of 13-inch Macbook Pro models and their prices:

In India, Apple is offering the 8GB RAM variants of 13-inch Macbook Pro with 8th‑generation Intel Core i5 processors while the 16Gigs of RAM variants will rock 10th generation Intel Core i5 CPU at the core.

Availability details are also not announced as of now. Apple is offering Macbook 13 Pro Buyers a year-long subscription of Apple TV+ streaming service for a limited time.

13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 specifications

Apple has made some basic upgrades under the hood as well. The new MacBook Pro 2020 features and specifications include a 13.3-inch retina IPS screen with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution, 227 pixels per inch, 500 nits brightness, and True Tone display technology.

The bezels around the screen are wider than the 16-inch Macbook Pro. Apple’s Touch Bar also finds a place and so does a Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Apple has also added physical ESC key.

Apple is offering the 13-inch Macbook Pro in two configurations – 8th Gen Core i5 CPU or 10th Gen Core i5 processor.

On the memory and storage front, one can buy the Macbook Pro 13-inch in 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM with either 256GB SSD storage or 512GB storage.

The 10th generation Intel processor-based Macbook Pro 13 boasts off 16GB of 3733MHz LPDDR4X onboard memory and can be paired up with either 512GB SSD or 1TB SSD storage.

On the connectivity front, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 loaded with up to four Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports (depending on processor option), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack.

Apple’s T2 security chip also included in the Macbook Pro 13. Of course, it runs on macOS Catalina.

Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac and iPad Product Marketing, said in a statement, “The 13-inch MacBook Pro delivers powerful performance, a stunning Retina display, and all-day battery life in our most portable Pro notebook. Today we’re adding the new Magic Keyboard, doubling the standard storage, and boosting performance, making the 13-inch MacBook Pro an even better value for our customers.”
