Vivo V3 review, price and comparison

#ExpertReview
By Smartprix10 years ago
Vivo V3 is a scaled down, trimmed down variant of Vivo V3 Max, but both still have a lot in common, including the design, fingerprint reader, software and camera hardware. The lowest price or Vivo V3 is 17,980 INR, but at the time of writing it is still not listed on online portals. The Vivo V3 includes a 5 inch HD display and is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The dual SIM handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based FunTouch OS which isn't exactly interesting. Camera optics remains unchanged when compared to its elder sibling Vivo V3 Max. You get a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and fast phase detection AF, along side an 8MP front-facing camera. This also makes Vivo V3 a "selfie-centrist" handset. Other features include 4G LTE, hybrid dual SIM support, 128GB microSD card support and a 2550 mAh battery. The rear mounted fingerprint scanner can unlock the handset in mere 0.2 seconds, but that is when it's not sleeping. In sleep mode, unbolting takes 0.5 seconds which is again pretty fast. The Vivo V3 looks like a very decent option for basic and moderate users looking for a compact, easily manageable smartphone. You can buy Vivo V3 in India for 17,980 INR. Other prominent rivals include Huawei's Honor 7, Nexus 5X and Vibe X3.
  • Good design
  • Capable chipset
  • Good camera hardware
  • Debuts with Android Marshmallow
  • Mediocre battery capacity
