Windows Mobile has long been flirting with the midrange but PocketPCs are not so keen to go downerm the ranks. HTC would drop an occasional lower-end handset but it's not really what they do best. But we guess the market situation is now forcing manufacturers to reconsider.
The Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE may not be as impressive as the top dogs in the Omnia family but its purpose is equally essential. read more →
- 3" 65K-color resistive touchscreen of WQVGA resolution
- Quad-band GSM support
- 3G with 3.6 Mbps HSDPA
- Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional OS with TouchWiz UI
- Samsung ARM 1176 667MHz CPU and 256 MB of RAM
- Low-end display resolution
- No standard 3.5mm audio jack
- Poor screen sunlight legibility
- No two-position shutter key, despite autofocus functionality
- No stylus slot
The Samsung Omnia Lite has plenty of features and a generous amount of applications stacked up inside. The Windows Mobile 6.5 increases usability a bit from previous versions of the OS, but it's not a great leap forward in terms of overall user-friendliness.
It's far from as intuitive or slick to use as some Android phones and the Apple iPhone, particularly with its sometimes languid responsiveness. read more →

We don’t want to harp on the same string, but we must say the Samsung OmniaLITE B7300 is an extremely snappy Windows Mobile 6.5 phone. We didn’t evidence lagging and scrolled throughout menus fast and without any troubles. The manufacturer has done a great job indeed. This seems to come at the expense of in-call quality and the OmniaLITE is mediocre in this respect. On the overall, the sound is acceptably loud on both ends and we would say it´s a bit duller than we would have liked. read more →
- Likeable, unobtrusive design
- Proper personalization
- Snappy interface
- Built-in DivX and Xvid support
- Disappointing camera
- Bad in-call quality
- Lacks 3.5mm jack
The Samsung Omnia Lite is a good-looking phone with a decent line-up of features, but its overly complicated software and slow performance make it difficult to recommend. The Omnia Lite's mishmash of Windows Mobile and TouchWiz is messy, and the handset feels much more sluggish than Samsung's recent Android phones. Consequently, despite its decent line-up of features, slim profile and relatively low price, we find it difficult to recommend. read more →
