This may be out of many people's comfort zone. Way out. The Samsung Galaxy Note believes in bigger is better. In many ways it is. The WXGA Super AMOLED is more than any smartphone can offer and the powerful Exynos adds brains to beauty.
Of course, many of you are probably asking yourselves if the Galaxy Note could fully replace a tablet. The Note is a full-time smartphone that wants you to leave your tablet at home. read more →

- Wont fit comfortably in every pocket
- Much harder for one-handed use than a regular smartphone

- No dedicated camera key
- HD screen uses PenTile matrix lowering perceived resolution
Samsung's Galaxy Note is massively good but simply too massive for some. read more →
- Excellent performance
- Enormous, high-res Super AMOLED display
- S Pen is a clever, no-compromise addition
- May be too large for some
- Awkward to use for voice calls
- S Pen button rather small
AT&T's version of the Samsung Galaxy Note isn't the best in the world, but it's still very, very good. read more →
- Solid battery life
- Screen as beautiful as it is spacious
- LTE speeds
- A bit too large for some
- Performance and battery life not as good as international release
- No Ice Cream Sandwich yet
There are very few things we can complain about with the Galaxy Note. Samsung has taken what is already a brilliant handset and built on it to make an even better one.
The problem is – is it a handset or is it a tablet? Will users be carrying this around as well as a phone? In our mind, forget the 'S-Pen' and just concentrate on this being a large phone and PMP and you can't go wrong. And then, the only choice you have to make is "is it too big for me?" read more →
- Amazing screen
- Great contacts management
- Excellent call quality
- Fantastic camera
- Samsung's own apps are high quality
- Not that different to the S2
- Expensive
- Limit to seven homescreens
- Size may be too much for some
- Camera lens easily scratched
It should be clear that the Samsung Galaxy Note is a niche product. It's not a phone designed to take over the mass market. Why is that? The big dimensions of the Note make it much more uncomfortable to handle and use than any other smartphone. Some people with extraordinarily large hands may have a chance of finding it okay, but those cases will be extremely rare. Just to give you an example, the device's size means that it's absolutely impossible to use it with one hand only. read more →
- Extremely large screen

- The large screen only brings marginal improvement in certain areas
- Camera could be better
