Samsung Galaxy J5 Review and Specifications

#ExpertReview
By Smartprix8 years ago
In Samsung’s smartphone portfolio, the Galaxy J5 and J7 stand out from the rest and for all good reasons. Samsung branding is very valuable to buyers across all price ranges and thus Samsung never made a real effort to deliver on high specs to price ratio devices the market is flooded with today, thanks to Chinese and local manufacturers. Samsung budge phones have rarely been impressive in the last few years, but with Galaxy J5, Samsung delivers. The design isn’t particularly impressive. The bulky chrome finished side edges are doing it any favor either. On the rear side, you will find a soft touch plastic back cover which lends a nice grip to Galaxy J5. Primary attraction on the front side is the AMOLED panel, which is actually quite good, in-spite of budget constraints and is lined by hard home and soft navigation keys. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 410 with well optimized Android 5.1 Lollipop based software makes it a decent performer. It is much better than what we are used to getting from Samsung phones in this budget. The rear 13MP camera and the front 5MP selfie shooter perform well in adequate lighting, however, the performance is nothing special in low light situations. The front camera is aided with an LED torch light, which can make a difference in certain situations. A pro mode with limited toggles has also been included in the camera app. The battery backup is pretty impressive. The handset easily made it across one day mark even with fairly heavy usage. Battery drain under standby is also very low. Of course the competition has better spec-sheets lined up, but again if you value Samsung branding and are on a budget, this is the best phone to go for. If you are willing to spend a little extra, the Galaxy J7 is also an option. Now let’s try to answer some Questions you might be having regarding Samsung Galaxy J5. Question – How is the display on Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer –Samsung Galaxy J5 flaunts a 5-inch display. Like all SUPER AMOLED it also produces color rich images with deep black levels. Spending time with Samsung Galaxy J5 is a delight purely because of this display. Question – How is the outdoor visibility on Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer – Under sunlight, user can easily read text on Samsung Galaxy J5 screen without straining his eyes. Question – How is the design and build? Answer- Samsung Galaxy J5 has a plastic body. Chrome finish round edges make it easy to hold. Question – How much Internal storage space is free? Can Apps be moved to SD card on Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer – Out of 8GB, 4.6GB is available at user end. You can also transfer parts of apps to SD card. Samsung allow users to uninstall some of the pre-installed apps. Question – Is USB OTG supported? Answer – Yes, USB OTG is supported. Question – How is the gaming performance? Answer – Under our gaming test it performed really well. It handled both play - high-end and casual games really well. Question – How much RAM is free on first boot? Answer- Out of 2GB around 600MB is free on first boot. Multitasking was efficient in our brief time with the device. Question- How is the Samsung Galaxy J5 camera? Answer – The rear camera performance is quite pleasing when compared to other phones in same price range. Under daylight condition, the picture quality is excellent. The image quality declines sharply in low-light conditions. The selfie camera is best in the class. Question – How is the call quality? Answer – Call quality is average. Question – Do both SIM cards support 4G? Answer – No, only one SIM card supports 4G networks. On other SIM card 3G services can be used. Question – How is the Battery backup on Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer – With basic and moderate usage, battery can last up to a day on full charge. Question – Is the battery removable on Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer – Yes, battery is replaceable. Question – Is notification LED present on Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer – Yes, LED notification light is present. Question – Are capacitive keys backlit? Answer – No, Capacitive keys are not backlit. Question – How is the software? Answer – Software on Samsung Galaxy J5 is TouchWiz which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Over all software shows no lag and performs well . Question – Is the loud speaker any good? Answer – Loudspeaker in this phone lacks a punch. It also gets blocked when you place the phone on its back. Question – What comes inside the box of Samsung Galaxy J5? Answer – Inside the box, there is a 1.5 Ampere charger, USB cable and a pair of headset. Expert Analysis With this phone, Samsung is trying to win hearts of the budget phone buyers. In very long time Samsung has launched a value for money phone that justifies its price tag with its performance.
  • Good Display
  • Great Battery backup
  • Good camera performance in day light

Best Smartphone For A Light User.

one of the best smartphone for those who just want to do simple stuffs and does not use their phone much frequently. when you put the smartphone on rest it does not consume much battery (around 1-2%) but when you use the battery drops quickly like 40-50% in 3-5hrs. phone is still nice in 2k17. faltu bate he ki upgrade krna padta hai..2 sal purana processor hai. wo unke liye hoga jo online transactions and net banking use krte hai. students ke liye nahi. but i also used j7 2016 it was very fast and smooth. jada whatsapp messages aate hai to bhi hang kr skta hai for that chats should not be kept and delet items and messages frequently keeping the important ones only. perfect smartphone for me.

The best product.

I bought Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015) on 5th November, 2015. It was my the best decision. It is so good in this price range but still can not be called the perfect phone because of many disappointing reasons. Nothing is perfect in this world.
