The Nokia E7 is either the best Symbian^3 smartphone on the market or the second best. This just can’t be bad news – whether you’re a brand-loyal upgrader or an unbiased user shopping for a premium smartphone.
Symbian has been questioned and doubted but Nokia are giving users something to hang on to, something to use in their defense. The E7 has all the latest and most advanced ingredients: a ClearBlack AMOLED screen, USB-on-the-go, an HDMI port, penta-band 3G. read more →
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
- Penta-band 3G with 10.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA
- Anodized aluminum unibody
- 4" 16M-color ClearBlack AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 640 x 360 pixel resolution
- Scratch resistant Gorilla glass display
- Symbian^3 is still behind Android and iOS usability standards
- Ovi store content is inferior to Android market and App Store
- Fixed-focus on an 8 megapixel camera is just wrong
- Camera interface is decidedly outdated
- Battery is not user-replaceable
After spending several weeks with the Nokia E7, there's absolutely no doubt that the it's one of the sexiest pieces of hardware we've played with in recent months. Perhaps it's not the greatest Communicator Espoo has ever bestowed upon us, but it comes close and offers the most balanced set of features of any Symbian device to date. This makes it Nokia's de facto flagship smartphone and Symbian's ambassador for the foreseeable future. read more →

- Strong camera performance
- Symbian is a disaster
- EDoF is a mistake
- Low pixel density

- Beautiful hardware all around
- Terrific camera and camcorder
- Plenty of business connectivity.
It has a plethora of great features, many of which regular Nokia users will take in their stride. It's a pretty smartphone and the QWERTY keyboard is the tops.
But with better software to support the hardware specs, this handset could be a market leader, instead it's simply a little too expensive for its asking price, and forgettable overall. read more →
- Easy to view screen
- HDMI-out port
- HD video recording
- Classy chassis
- Great keyboard
- High price
- Outdated software
- Poor UI
- Unintuitive media experience
- Clunky browser
The Nokia E7 exhibits a top-notch call quality , which we are used to with the Finnish handsets, both in the earpiece, and on the receiving end, thanks to the noise-canceling mikes. The 1200mAh battery is rated for 5 hours of talk time in 3G mode, which is not all that impressive, so you'll probably have to charge it daily. Nevertheless, we were thrilled by the Nokia E7's boutique design, rock solid construction, and its choice of employing the most premium of materials. read more →
