Nokia C5 review: Smart and trusty

It's pretty clear that we lost the geeks way back on page 1. Congratulations to all those of you who're still with us. We think we've got a phone for you. The Nokia C5 hasn't got all the features ever invented - it's the sensible buyer's choice. Performance within budget and a sense of style, the C5 is well on target.

Let's not forget though, this is a phone for users that aren't keen on jumping on the touchscreen bandwagon. read more →

Nokia's semi-smart candybar leaves a sweet taste

You can't not like the C5. Nokia has known how to make a perfectly good mobile phone since 1998. From the perspective that this device is for making calls, there's very little to fault.

If you're a Nokia user considering an upgrade, and this falls within the right price bracket for you, we've no qualms recommending it. read more →

Nokia C5 Review

„Heh, that was a good one!” said the schizophrenic and went on playing belote all by himself. All joking aside, the Nokia C5 is equipped with 600MHz processor and 128MB RAM, i.e. more than enough resources that guarantee a smartphone like this will be running without any lagging. We encountered some minor issues relating to the sound sharpness during calls , but all told, we were able to perfectly understand people on the other end of the line and they claimed the same. read more →

  • Dainty design and proper materials
  • Really snappy
  • Nokia Messaging support
  • GPS and free navigation via Ovi Maps
  • Display that is almost unusable in direct sunlight and at an angle
  • Lacks Wi-Fi

Nokia C5

The Nokia C5 offers a simple candybar design and good range of features without being too costly. The Nokia C5 doesn't excite, but it won't disappoint, either. If you're looking for a basic handset with smartphone-like features, the C5 is worth considering. It's a neat, compact and affordable midrange device that delivers for the most part. read more →

  • Excellent keypad
  • good set of connectivity features
  • free realtime navigation with Ovi Maps
  • good battery life
  • snappy performance.
  • A few minor design flaws
  • doesn't support Wi-Fi
  • camera doesn't have autofocus.

Nokia C5 review

The C5’s biggest calling card, though, is its battery life. While other smartphones generally need juice once a day, we squeezed three continuous days of use from it before it needed power.

This is a perfect phone for smartphone first timers. If the budget touchscreen delights of the HTC Wildfire don’t do it for you, then this back-to-basics number is where it’s at. read more →
