Nokia C3 review: SNS love

Since the Industrial Revolution things have been getting a whole lot cheaper. They arent quite as pretty as hand-crafted items, but they work, quite often better than their more expensive counterparts.

Throw in Wi-Fi support and the Contacts and Messaging keys, which are similar to the Eseries keys, and the Nokia C3 is beginning to look like a mass-market Nokia E72. read more →

  • QWERTY messenger bar
  • Quad-band GSM/EDGE
  • 802.11b/g Wi-Fi support
  • Solid SNS integration on the homescreen and with dedicated buttons
  • 2.4" 256K-color QVGA display with excellent sunlight legibility
  • No 3G
  • Low-grade camera, no autofocus, no flash
  • Poor video recording
  • S40 is outdated, never mind the visual updates
  • No multi-tasking

Nokia C3 (AT&T)

The Wal-Mart exclusive Nokia C3 is a cheap prepaid phone that looks sharp and lasts seemingly forever on a single charge, but it's far from Nokia's usual quality standards. read more →

  • Amazing battery life
  • Attractive styling.
  • Tinny voice quality
  • So-so QWERTY keyboard
  • No voice dialing
  • Terrible music playback
  • Buggy, poor quality camera.

Does the low cost Nokia C3 offer great value for money?

You may come to the Nokia C3 expecting a lot more than the phone actually delivers. Its solid hardware design and good keyboard and buttons lead you to think this is a handset with a lot on offer.

But you'll find that when you actually start using it on an everyday basis the phone lets you down - although with the budget price tag you can't really expect much more. read more →

  • Super mini QWERTY keyboard
  • Wi-Fi
  • Good Twitter and Facebook integration
  • Top-mounted 3.5mm jack
  • Not 3G

Nokia C3 Review

The Nokia C3 is a well-targeted phone, made predominantly for affordable messaging and social network updates on the go. By stripping it down of functions unneeded by its target market like 3G, GPS or a touchscreen, the company has managed to keep the price at bay. Moreover, Nokia has cleverly designed the C3 to look and feel like a device from the business-friendly Eseries, altering the interface of the Series 40 platform. read more →

  • Inexpensive
  • Designed to look like a business-class Eseries device
  • Comfortable QWERTY keyboard
  • Social networking updates on the home screen
  • Mediocre camera
  • Lack of 3G
  • No software for viewing Office documents

Nokia C3

Nokia's C3 looks like the funky sibling of the serious, yet popular E71. Its full QWERTY keypad is matched with a bevy of messaging functionality, but without 3G, its Web life is compromised.

While we won't forget the C3's sub-US$100 price tag in our final evaluation, there are still a few areas where we'd like to have seen a little more. At the time of writing you can buy a 3G touchscreen smartphone for US$130 in several of the major phone stores, and in an age ruled by social networks, it would seem wise to spend this extra money to have the Internet wherever you go. read more →

  • Full range of messaging functionality
  • sharp design with full keyboard
  • access to Nokia Ovi Store
  • Wi-Fi
  • No 3G
  • screen is large, but the viewing angle is poor.

C3-00 Economic Phone

Nokia C3 is a good phone. It is also social, since it is well integrated with Facebook & Twitter. Sometimes it says "No Response. Try Again." when we try to surf videos online. It also provides a camera with good quality for 2MP. Easy to type long messages in short time with its comfortable QWERTY keypad.

  • Camera
  • Facebook & Twitter
  • Strong and Stylish Body Design
  • WiFi
  • QWERTY keypad
  • 2.4" Display
  • Slow Video Buffering Online
  • No 3G
  • No Flash
  • Outdated S40 Symbian OS
