The main virtue of the Nokia C2-00 is undoubtedly its rock bottom price. And we mean mobile phones in general, not just dual-SIMs. For the little cash you spend, the C2-00 tries to offer all-round features and does it with varying success.
The phone offers the traditionally feature-rich Series 40 experience, though it carries its flaws too such as the lack of smart dialing, an office document viewer or some UI animations, for that matter. read more →
- Entry level dual-SIM, dual-standby phone with decent features
- Dual-band GSM/EDGE connectivity
- Hot-swappable second SIM
- 1.8" 65K-color 128x160 TFT display
- Series 40 UI, 6th edition
- No quad-band or 3G connectivity for either SIM card
- Doesnt charge off its USB port
- Very basic camera with subpar image quality
- No smart dialing
- Miserable display (viewing angles are slim at best)
Nokia is touting a big improvement in its web browsing and Nokia Maps, but forgets to include 3G in this particular release.
There's a good chance that we might not see the C2 launch in Australia, but it is indicative of good things to come for the budget-priced smartphone category. Nokia knows that a smartphone needs a good web-browsing experience regardless of price, although it won't fulfil this promise with the C2's 2G-only connectivity. Still, it whets our appetite for more Series 40 devices to be launched later in the year. read more →
