Nokia 6220 classic review: Sharp-witted shooter

To summarize, Nokia 6220 classic is better than its price tag and delivers without fail. For your buck you get an impressive range of imaging niceties, Symbian power and a snappy UI, plus all the added benefits of Feature Pack 2. Nokia 6220 classic is nothing short of a true Symbian workhorse. If only it didn't look a sick horse. And hey, we're not nagging for a flashy crowd-pleaser design. We just mean to say that the 6220 classic exterior is doing its performance no justice, all the more the dismal keypad.

Anyway, beside the looks, which is a subjective call, the absence of Wi-Fi is pretty much the only cause of frustration. read more →

Don't let first impressions fool you with this top-spec phone

The low-cost, lightweight design may have entailed some compromises on the bodywork, and it would have been great to have Wi-Fi onboard. But what you do get is a very generous package of quality features, and A-list applications that put in a top notch performance. read more →

Nokia 6220 classic Review

What is a phone good for, be it smarter than Einstein, if its telephone function is below par? The Nokia 6220 classic is a mid-range performer in this respect. We were able to hear people we were talking to relatively clearly, but their voices sounded muffled, so you better leave important conversations for less noisy environments. We were heard much better on the other end, with sound being a bit sharper, but clear and loudness neither low, nor excessively high. read more →

  • Good quality of the snapshots even in darker places
  • Great display that remains usable even in bright sunlight
  • Powerful loudspeaker
  • Uncomfortable keyboard
  • Mediocre video codec support

Nokia 6220 classic

The Nokia 6220 Classic is a great phone if you want a lot of features, but don't want to carry around a large handset. Our only disappointments are that the camera isn't as good as the one on the Nokia N82 and that there's no Wi-Fi.

Playing it safe, Nokia has stuck to a tried and tested candy-bar design, but still manages to pack in enough features to keep most people happy. It's definitely more attractive than the similarly-specced N82, but the camera isn't as good. read more →
