Nokia 5230 review: Foot soldiers get smarter

It may as well have been a matter of routine and habit, but Nokia have achieved another of their goals. The 5230 is ready to take on a segment thats virtually free of smartphone competition. Giving customers another option is always welcome and it gets even better when the minimal R&D costs result in a welcoming price tag.

Essentially, the Nokia 5230 and 5530 XpressMusic are near equivalent options  its a matter of balancing your needs  whether its WI-Fi or GPS with fast HSDPA data transfers. read more →

Bargain-priced smartphone with some advanced features

The most important realisation with the Nokia 5230 is that it is not intended as a power user device and just does the smartphone basics.

However, in our final analysis, we found the Nokia 5230 to be an intelligent device that we would use if the iPhone, Nexus One, and other models were just a figment of our imagination. read more →

    Nokia Nuron 5230 Review

Struggling to get a foothold in the US smartphone market, Nokia has finally brought a carrier branded S60 5th Edition phone with the Nuron. It's definitely the right direction that the veteran phone maker needs to tackle, but the Nuron only skims the surface of the waters with its simplicity and ease of use. In the wake of Android's fast rise to prominence in the smartphone market, Nokia's biggest hurdle to overcome is undoubtedly its smartphone platform. read more →

    Nokia 5230 Nuron review (unlocked)

The Nokia 5230 Nuron for T-Mobile isn't the most advanced or fastest smartphone on the market, but budget-conscious customers will find an incredible deal here. read more →

    • The Nokia 5230 Nuron has free maps and voice-guide navigation via Ovi Maps, 3G, and excellent call quality, all at an affordable price. It's also the first Nokia smartphone with a U.S. carrier to offer access to the Ovi Store.
    • The Nuron lacks Wi-Fi and a document viewer. Its user interface is clunky and confusing, and we wish it had a capacitive touch screen. No flash for the camera.
