Motorola RAZR XT910 review: Through thick and thin

There's no denying that the Motorola RAZR is a pretty unique handset - from its slim waistline, through the stand-out styling and finish, to hardware specs like a 4.3" qHD SuperAMOLED screen. Considering its the spiritual successor to an iconic phone, it seems that Motorola have done their best to brace the RAZR for success.

The microHDMI port, enabling accessories like the Lapdock 500, sounds really cool, although an HD Station dock next to the TV at home might be a more popular option. read more →

  • Dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, TI OMAP 4430 chipset; 1GB of RAM
  • Android OS v2.3.5 with customized UI

  • Bigger than other phones with the same screen size
  • Screen uses PenTile matrix (offset by high ppi); a little dim too

The legendary Moto brand gets reborn in an Android skin

Motorola needed a phone like the Razr in its arsenal, and now it has one to be proud of. It's got all the dual-core power of the Atrix, plus a superior screen; more importantly, it's jumped from a squat chassis to a sumptuous slimline affair that glides into the pocket.

However, we're not sure about the way the screen is swamped in the frame of the phone, nor about the certain elements Moto has locked down - plus the battery life remains an issue. read more →

  • Super slim design
  • Hi-res AMOLED screen
  • Cool and useful overlay
  • Fast processor and oodles of RAM
  • Impressive media player
  • Slightly poor battery
  • Odd screen design
  • Only 5 homescreens
  • Erratic internet browser
  • Top heavy chassis

Motorola RAZR Review

There's no arguing that the original Motorola RAZR was an iconic device that's seemingly forever ingrained into our minds, but more importantly, it showed us the kind of ingenuity behind Motorola. In a time when high-end smartphones seem to be in a cutthroat race, the Motorola RAZR is able to captivate our attention thanks to the engineering marvel it is. For something so thin and light, it's hard to fathom how remarkably strengthened the phone is to offer superior durability. read more →

  • Incredibly thin and light design
  • Excellent call quality
  • Durable chassis with steel frame and unique Kevlar back
  • Motorola Webtop functionality and microHDMI
  • Frontal camera records video in 720p HD
  • Mediocre pictures and video capture
  • Pinch zooming stutters in the Gallery
  • Slightly wider than other 4.3” phones, making it uncomfortable for some
