The Motorola MILESTONE XT720 is certainly a handset that wants to make a difference. Its incredibly sturdy feel and a design that sets its apart from the crowd are probably its two strongest points. The very solid still imaging also counts in its favor, as long as you dont have too high expectations for the xenon flash.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will give you a bit of extra screen estate in exchange for the xenon flash and the (anyway useless) HD videos. read more →

The top end of the Android smartphone world is really in need of handsets to rival the best that HTC can produce. Motorola has done a good job in providing competition in some respects with the Milestone XT720 and it is an impressive phone.
There are aspects that need ironing out, though, and we'd have really liked it if Moto could have come up with user interface to rival HTC's Sense UI for sheer pizzazz. read more →
- Great high-res screen
- Super camera
- FM radio works (just) without a headset attached
- Good Home screen for in car use
- 720p video is jerky
- Web browser doesn't reflow text
- Lacking sparkle overall
- Sometimes tricky to see the screen outdoors
We like the Motorola MILESTONE XT720 , we just don’t love it. Its richness in features means it will never be a total let-down, yet a couple of issues reduce it to mediocrity when it could have been something great. The slow camera and painfully jerky HD video capture, stuttering when scrolling through the menu and changing home-screens all make the European MILESTONE XT720 feel grossly underpowered for a current generation smart-phone. read more →

The Motorola Milestone XT720 is a full-featured and sleek Android smartphone, but it's rather underwhelming in the performance department. read more →
- The Motorola Milestone XT720 features a sleek design and an 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture. The Android 2.1 device also offers the full gamut of wireless options.
- The Milestone is sluggish at times. The camera has shutter lag, and picture quality could be better.
The XT720 is a great alternative to the original Milestone, especially for those who want a slimmer design and better camera in place of a physical keypad. If you've read our original Milestone review, you'd know that we lamented about the poor physical keyboard, which resulted in us using the soft keyboard most of the time. The XT720 should be the perfect solution to that, with improved camera quality to boot. read more →

- 720p video recording
- 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash.
- Doesn't feel faster even with improved CPU hardware
- cumbersome microSDHC slot
- touch-sensitive controls can be annoying.
