Motorola BACKFLIP review: Back and forth

We can almost hear some users say thinking out of the box is overrated. We understand that and  more importantly  the Motorola BACKFLIP can get over people doubting it. Its a bold design, eccentric indeed, but it works. The Motorola BACKFLIP will tease you to give it a try. Though obviously not everyones cup of tea, it has what it takes to sustain that interest.

Inside that unusual body is a first generation Android  but upgrading to later versions is reportedly on the way. read more →

    Motorola BACKFLIP Review

Unlike Verizon’s plunge into Android, AT&T has decided to go with a less than magnificent entourage with their dive. It’s not to say that the Motorola BACKFLIP might not be garnered as the flagship Android device we would’ve envisioned, but it’s uniqueness in various aspects meticulously elevates it to a higher platform for AT&T customers that have been Android-less. read more →

    Motorola Backflip

The innovative design fails to hide some fatal flaws in the implementation and performance of the Backflip. Even its predecessor, the Dext, seems like a better alternative. The Backflip has a very bold design and that may be all to it. The excellent build quality and unique form factor aren't enough to cover for the major flaws with the keyboard, dated Android 1.5, sluggish performance and miserable battery life. Fortunately, the device can be had for next to nothing on selected operator price plans. read more →

    • Excellent build quality
    • offered with a number of services from the carrier
    • powerful speakers.
    • QWERTY keyboard impossible to use

    Motorola Backflip (AT&T) Review

AT&T’s first Android phone bends over backwards to impress, but winds up feeling awkward and loaded with superfluous features.

At $99, the price is right but too much else is wrong. Although we like the Motoblur interface and appreciate that Motorola is trying to push the form factor envelope, ultimately the Backflip is more confusing than exciting. The touchpad feels gimmicky, the camera is lacking, and the inability to download apps outside of Android Market (paired with the bloatware) is annoying. read more →
