The LG Optimus L7 is a beautiful, entry-level smartphone, but its numerous shortcomings amount to a regrettable purchase. As much as we wanted to like the Optimus L7, we must strongly urge those who want an entry-level smartphone to look elsewhere. It's quite a shame, really, because LG's design efforts hinted at something so much greater. We genuinely appreciate the phone's display, handy NFC capabilities, excellent battery life and even its software, which features LG's UI 3.0 layered on top of Android 4.0. read more →
- Excellent display
- Elegant design
- Sluggish performance
- Lackluster camera
- Unresponsive touchscreen
- No ambient light sensor
The LG Optimus L7 had the potential to be a decent phone, its big screen, Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and NFC technology are sadly put on the back burner thanks to the incredibly slow processor and user experience. If you want a decent, single core phone with all the key features then you're better off looking at the HTC One V or Orange San Diego. read more →
- Good screen
- NFC tags
- decent battery life
- video player app
- Slow and sluggish
- poor browsing
- angular shape not great
- VGA recording
The Optimus L7 is a good midlevel Android device that features some of the latest technology in the market, but only if you're patient enough to live with its pokey processor. The LG Optimus L7's slow processor is ultimately a real deal killer for me. It's annoyingly slow and doesn't do the sleek device justice. Especially since the smartphone is running the latest Android OS and sports a modern design, having that extra lag time is a drag. read more →
- The svelte LG Optimus L7 runs the latest version of the Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, and has NFC capabilities like Android Beam.
- The L7's output speaker quality is poor and its 1GHz processor makes for slow and choppy performance.
The LG Optimus L7 may have style, but it doesn’t have a lot of substance. Call clarity is great and it’s fine for basic tasks. But, try to push it even a slightly bit further and you’ll come unstuck. We know that this isn’t the handset that LG intends to signal its big return to the Android arena with (that’s the task of the ) but it’s one that it will want to make an impression on the mid-level masses. Sadly, the LG Optimus L7 fails to compete with what’s already available from HTC, Samsung and Sony. read more →
- Slick design
- Decent camera
- Latest Android version
- Poor performance
- Terrible battery life
- Low storage
The LG Optimus L7 has a stylish design and some good features including NFC support and a large 4.3inch screen. However, its 1Ghz processor seems to be overwhelmed by what LG is asking it to do on this handset and the result is that the phone can be quite tedious to use, as it suffers from lots of random slow downs and pauses. Our advice is to look elsewhere to satisfy your Android craving. read more →
