The specifications as given in flipkart is correct. pros:- 1. 8 mp camera 2. 1.2 ghz quad core media tek MTK6589 as well as powervx sgx 544 have great graphics . 3. supports High end games such as Asphalt 7,8, Blood glory, NFS, GTA.... Cons:- 1. Some times battery get heat while using, but it can be easily recoverd Tips:- a. Charge atleast 6 hrs in first time use b. Don't use internet while charging. 2. It has a another issue that it get troubleshoot while installing too many apps and takes laggy and apps get terminated or not respond generally it appers while installing high end games or apps 3. Ram do not terminates easily and get full It can also easlily recovered here i share my discovery among all, do the easy and following steps :- Note :- This trick only applicable in lava moblies as well as where Mediatek processors are having in it. Only checked in MTK6589 not in others If you don't know about processor which included in mobile then install "cpu identifier " from play store Steps:- (If mediatek available and troubleshooting ) Step 1. Hold down the power button and it appers power off menu Step 2. Tap long the power off and simultaneously "Recovery to the safe mode" dialog box appers Step 3. Tap ok button moblie wold be get switch off and simultaneously it get on automatically in this action you will able to see in screen on bottom of left corner a "safe mode" appers Step 4. Now hold the power button and this time tap the icon power off menu Step 5 . power on the moblie phone On doing this you will be able to see Ram gets free it kills and terminates the unused apps along with cache and now the phone wont get laggy. Some other helpful tricks:- For taking screen shot Step:- Tap the powerbutton+volume down button simultaneously. Solid Performer
I purchased this mobile in the November 2013. It has been more than seven months and the phone was very good. Coming to the performance of the phone, I am very satisfied till date. I knew I took a risk in buying 458q because of the lack of the service centers and the poor service quality. But there has been no much problems so far. The build quality is good. I dropped it quite a few times and nothing bad happened. Rooting was available and I rooted the device almost immediately and got titanium backup installed to get all my previous applications with data. Initially there were RAM problems. A hard reset for two times got that solved. I am not a big gamer. But the few games that I player were smooth. The camera is good and at times very good in the day light. But the night shots were very blurred most of the times. Magnetic sensor is not working and I think that should be a software issue. Anyhow I have no use for it and hence it has no much bad impact. Regarding the battery backup the phone has a problem. I dont know whether it is only for me. When you charge the phone charge it to 100% and leave it charging for some time. Only then I get the full back up. For light usage (switching off 3G, WiFi etc.) it comes to two days. With 3g and WiFi may be for one day - depending how much internet you actually use. Downloading and similar things will deplete the battery very soon. User Interface is pretty smooth. Applications open up without much lag. Internet browsing downloading is fast and the screen is also very good. I say this keeping in mind the price that I paid for the phone. If only RAM is 1gb (The lack of RAM really shows up when you want to play high end games) this would have been a much better phone. So my overall rating would be 4.5 stars out of 5. The .5 stars are taken away for the minor software glitches. ( I do remember the price I paid for it) Now the important question With so many new models coming to the market particularly moto e and moto g, Is it still good to buy. The specifications at that time (In November) for Rs.7200 was just great. Now Lava has increased the price by around Rs. 600 and may be putting an end to the device with lava iris X1. So the product life cycle is just seven months??? The price difference between X1 and 458q is just around Rs. 100 and you have better specifications in X1. So if you are considering to buy 458q look at X1 first. If the price can be brought back to Rs. 7200 then 458q would be a real good choice. But at this price you can consider buying X1 or if you are willing to spend some more moto g or moto e. Last word about flipkart service and delivery. I am impressed. Their delivery is very fast and their return policy is very dependable. I had to get replacement of my other purchases (not this one) and that was done easily.
