Huawei Mate 8 review

he Huawei Mate 8 may very well be the best 6-inch smartphone you can pick up today. But it is the specific stipulations in that wording that hide a few caveats.

For one, Huawei's largest phablet this season is among a select few flagships that venture past the 5.7-inch mark. And that's another way of saying there aren't any others. So if you want that particular pairing of largest diagonal with current, powerful hardware, the Mate 8 simply is the one phone to get. read more →

  • Aluminum unibody, diamond-cut beveled edges, sandblasted satin back finish
  • 3GB of RAM/32GB of built-in storage, or 4GB/64GB;
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
  • 16MP camera with Sony IMX298 sensor
  • 4,000mAh Li-Po battery, fast charging
  • No 4K 2160p video recording
  • Low-resolution display by flagship phablet standards
  • Non-removable battery
  • Hybrid DualSIM/microSD card slot limits options

Huawei Mate 8 Review

The Huawei Mate 8 is yet another device in their portfolio that shows that they’re not backing down anytime soon, as it’s quickly establishing itself as a premium phablet with Marshmallow on board. In all fairness, there are several great things about the handset, like its premium all-metal design, long-lasting battery life, and exceptionally quick processing performance, but at the end of the day, its high price point makes it a tough sell.

That’s honestly tough to swallow, given that we can spout out several phones that have better characteristics and performances – plus, several of them are lower in price. read more →

  • Elegant all-metal design
  • Slim & lightweight for its size
  • Better-than-average battery life
  • Tons of features with EMUI 4.0
  • Display color balance is off
  • Disorganized user interface
  • Weak internal speaker
  • Greenish hues with indoor snapshots
  • Wobbly effect with video capture

Huawei Mate 8 review

The huge, metal Huawei Mate 8 has plenty of appeal and only minor drawbacks, but it's too expensive to sway fans of large-screen phones from the Nexus 6P or Samsung Galaxy Note 5. read more →

  • Huawei's Mate 8's battery life goes on and on
  • It snaps good photos and has a fast,
  • Accurate fingerprint sensor
  • A loud speakerphone.
  • This ginormous 6-inch phone is just too unwieldy for smaller hands.
  • It has a dim screen and a low resolution compared with other phones.

Huawei Mate 8 Review

The Huawei Mate 8 is an echo of the Mate 7. But with an added thump of power at its core, the latest software on board and an improved camera, it's all the more appealing. Plus 6-inch phones are becoming increasingly the norm, which ought to further seed its success as one of the standout 6-inch devices on the market.

The Mate 8 is a large-scale, good-looking phone with heaps of power that ought to sit it in good stead in the phablet world (if we're still using the phablet word in 2016, that is). read more →

  • Superb battery life
  • Ace fingerprint scanner
  • Refined design
  • Smaller than iPhone 6S Plus
  • Software not always smart
  • Screen resolution limitations
  • Huge size won't suit all

Here comes the Bigshow.....

Truly a power packed bomb.

  • Nice processing power and an amazing piece of RAM.
  • Good camera quality.
  • Cool interface.
  • Altogether it's a power packed luxury phone.
  • The pixel density is poor.
  • They could have come up with a gorilla glass.
  • The inbuilt memory should have been 128 GB and expandable memory should be 256 GB
  • They should focus on the camera a bit.
