The HTC Incredible S has all the ingredients of a great smartphone. A large screen with great image quality, powerful hardware under the hood and a decent camera with HD video recording sounds like a great formula for success. It also provides a solid user experience so all seems fine, right?
Developers will soon start to make use of the extra processing power and make their apps and games more demanding, which will render them incompatible with the Incredible S. read more →
- Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support
- 14.4 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA
- 4" 16M-color capacitive LCD touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels)
- The best screen on an HTC device by some distance
- Android OS v2.2 Froyo with HTC Sense UI (ver. 2.3 update promised soon after launch)
- No dedicated camera key and no lens cover
- Runs Froyo on launch, instead of Gingerbread
- Poor video recording, 720p footage is pretty jerky
- Uninspiring audio quality
We know why you've come here: you want to know if we think that the HTC Incredible S is the phone you should be going for. Well, if you're thinking that the HTC Desire HD was a great handset, but the screen was a little too large and the battery life was a real worry, then you're in for a treat - this is the phone for you.
You'll enjoy the compact stylings, and if you've never used the Sense UI, you'll bloomin' love it - in our opinion it's the best version of Android out there (although we know some people will be wishing that there was an option to remove it. read more →

For all the high-end hardware accompanying the HTC Incredible S , its arrival is somewhat late to the market and doesn’t quite seem impressive versus other newer Android smartphones. Although it proves to be one well-rounded handset, which is evident by its wonderful platform experience, there are devices out there that simply have stronger presence right now since they’re priced similarly – such as the Motorola ATRIX 4G and LG Optimus 2X. read more →
- Super responsive platform experience
- Sharp looking Super LCD display
- Takes muddy looking photos & videos
- Not quite a modern “high-end” smartphone
The HTC Incredible S might not impress the tech enthusiast crowd, but it works as a midtier Android smartphone, offering some nice improvements over its predecessor.
In today's market, the HTC Incredible S may seem a little underwhelming when compared with all the dual-core, 4G goodness coming down the pike. However, it's important to remember that not everyone wants the latest and greatest, and it would be a shame to overlook the Incredible S based on the lack of certain specs, as it is an improved and refined smartphone. read more →
- The HTC Incredible S features a crisp 4-inch, Super LCD multitouch screen. The HTC Sense UI provides a slick user experience and generally snappy performance.
- The Incredible S runs the older Android 2.2 OS. Call quality and camera quality could be better.
Though it has a generous screen and high-end features, the Incredible S is more pocket-friendly than its larger cousin, the Desire HD, both in terms of price and footprint. You can think of the Incredible S as a scaled-down version of the 4.3-inch Desire HD. Its 4-inch screen makes it much more pocketable. The smaller display also gives a higher pixel density, so we find it nicer to look at compared with the Desire HD. read more →
