HTC Desire 610 review: A budget phone without a purpose

With no notable strengths and plenty of better low-cost options, the Desire 610 isn't worth your consideration.

There was a time, back in Android’s early days, when any phone that worked reasonably well would have been a triumph. But those days are long gone, and if you’re looking to save money on an AT&T-supported phone, you have several better options than the HTC Desire 610.

For the same price, the Nexus 5 has a sharper, larger, higher-quality display, double the storage, a halfway decent camera and one of the best software experiences of any Android phone. read more →

  • Decent performance
  • Useful features in HTC Sense
  • Low-res display with extremely poor viewing angles
  • Dull design with excessively thick bezels
  • Camera takes hazy, off-color photos

HTC Desire 610

There is a lot to like about the HTC Desire 610. The software is good and the performance excellent. It's built very well, and is light and easy to hold. There is a solidity to the phone without it feeling like a brick. Competition is fierce in this part of the smartphone market and there are better options at even lower prices than the HTC Desire 610.

HTC has included a wide range of connectivity options, and the Desire 610 has every feature you would want from a modern smartphone. read more →

  • Great performance
  • Excellent gallery
  • Range of connectivity options
  • Weak camera and screen
  • Relatively expensive
  • Mediocre battery life

HTC Desire 610 review: A cheap Android KitKat phone, with a fun design and 4G LTE

Although the Desire 610 is affordable, its uninspiring specs - in particular, its low-resolution display - means it's still not cheap enough. It offers very little over the Motorola Moto G, which also has Android KitKat and a quad-core processor, but has a higher resolution screen and a much cheaper price tag.

Unless you desperately want the BoomSound speakers or the slightly better camera, the Moto G is the much more sensible option. read more →

  • The HTC Desire 610 has an affordable price tag.
  • Its camera isn't too bad.
  • Its navy-blue, plastic body is quite fun.
  • It has a very disappointingly low resolution display that's not too bright either.
  • Its processor and Android version are the same as the considerably cheaper Motorola Moto G.
  • Its battery is only adequate.

HTC Desire 610 review

The HTC Desire 610 is a solid all-round effort. It's well put together, has a big screen, and is fast enough for basic tasks. There are much cheaper alternatives, though, like the Motorola Moto E and Nokia Lumia 630, so you really have to weigh up how much you need extras like a big screen, LTE and 4G. read more →

  • Solid all rounder
  • Big screen
  • NFC and 4G
  • Average camera
  • Bulky
  • Not that cheap
