The Dell Venue Pro is a big, powerful Windows Phone 7 device, but it has some battery and reception issues. read more →
- Gorgeous build
- Terrific keyboard
- Huge screen
- Windows Phone 7 has excellent media, gaming, and productivity support.
I’m going to put this one out there - of the current crop of Windows Phone 7 devices, the Venue Pro is my favorite. It’s exceedingly well designed and well built, but the biggest difference between this and similarly well designed products from HTC and Samsung is that the Dell is the one device that’s really new. The remainder of the launch devices are pretty much rehashes of previous devices, while Dell basically started from scratch with the Thunder/Lightning platform, though why they decided to rechristen them the Venue and Venue Pro on the way to production is anyone’s guess. read more →
First and foremost, the Dell Venue Pro is one of the most beautifully designed smartphones in recent memory as its unique looking industrial design radiates a sense of polish at every angle. However, its overall performance is mediocre at best in specific categories like battery life, camera quality, and calling quality – and not to mention the gleaming issue we witnessed with signal bars dramatically dropping. read more →
- Beautiful and solid design
- Usable physical portrait keyboard
- Responsive platform
- Fairly inexpensive
- Hefty in size & weight
- Fluctuating signal strength
- Muffled sounding voices
The Dell Venue Pro is a well-built and smooth-running Windows Phone 7 device, but its large size will be a turnoff for many. read more →
- The Dell Venue Pro features an attractive design with a large, sharp display and comfortable keyboard. The smartphone runs smoothly on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
- The smartphone is large and heavy. It doesn't support the T-Mobile HSPA+ network. Call and speakerphone quality could be better.
A gorgeous industrial design and solid keyboard make this Windows Phone 7 device worth considering.
It's safe to say that the $99 Dell Venue Pro is the company's best smart phone yet from a design standpoint. While hefty, the solid and luxuriously built hardware--and especially the AMOLED screen--nicely complements the highly polished (but still somewhat shallow) Windows Phone 7 OS. Our favorite Windows Phone 7 device remains the Samsung Focus because it packs an equally impressive Super AMOLED display into a much lighter design, but if you want a physical keyboard the Dell Venue Pro is your best bet for this platform. read more →

- Brilliant Super AMOLED display
- Comfortable keyboard
