Coolpad added a new smartphone to the list of Selfie-centric devices, named as the ‘Coolpad Mega 2.5D’. The handset is manufactured under ‘Make in India’ initiative. The Coolpad Mega 2.5D is more or less identical to Coolpad’s Sky 3 with only modest modifications, call it a modified Sky 3. Coolpad Mega 2.5D will take on the likes of Meizu M2,Micromax Canvas Evok, LYF Wind 3 and Swipe Elite Plus to name a few within the same price segment. The major highlight of the handset is its camera hardware - both front and rear. The handset packs an 8 MP resolution (f/2.2 aperture) rear camera with LED flash. Coolpad Mega 2.5D also sports an 8 MP resolution Selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 83-degree wide-angle lens. Both the cameras are tailored to shoot videos with 700p resolution at 30 fps. The camera UI features ‘smart beautification’ mode that offers more than a handful of customization options while snapping Selfies. Coolpad Mega 2.5D includes a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720 p) resolution IPS LCD Display with a pixel density of 267 PPI. The handset looks quite attractive with a scratch resistant, 2.5D curved glass layered on top of the display panel, a metal side frame, and an eye-catching plastic back panel offers a premium sense, lookswise. Coolpad Mega 2.5D is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor teamed with 3GB RAM, Mali T720 GPU and 16GB of onboard Multimedia Storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). The handset runs Coolpad’s custom Cool UI 8.0 on top of Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) . The Device encapsulates a 2,500 mAh battery to fuel its chipset. It also supports Dual SIM Cards (Nano + Nano). Other basic features and connectivity options include 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi (both direct and Hotspot), Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, microUSB OTG and FM radio.
