As Research In Motion's lineup continues to age, the BlackBerry Style may be the nicest way yet to enjoy the platform; we're particularly fond of Boost Mobile's inexpensive plan prices. read more →
- Nifty flip form factor
- Great voice quality
- Strong reception
- Cheaper plan prices than with the Sprint version.
After some time with the device, Style really is a good name for the 9670. As is often the case with stylish, things they usually lack in substance, and the BlackBerry Style 9670 is no exception. For those more concerned with a cute, flip phone, the Style is a very good, functional option. For the heavy users the constant opening and closing will wear on them, and for the tech savvy BlackBerry OS 6 doesn’t do much to bridge the growing gap between BlackBerry and Android/iOS. read more →
- The flip form-factor is done well this time around
- Great keyboard
- Crisp display
- Good call quality
- Camera and video performance is lacking
- Web browser is still sub-par
Despite a few quirks, the RIM BlackBerry Style's practical design and advanced feature set make it a great smartphone for BlackBerry newbies and veterans alike. read more →
- The RIM BlackBerry Style combines a clamshell form factor and a full QWERTY keyboard. It ships with BlackBerry OS 6, which has an improved user interface, a new WebKit browser, and a better multimedia experience. Call quality was impressive.
- The Style's square design may be a bit bulky for some users, and the keyboard is a touch too flat for our tastes.
This is a phone for people familiar with the BlackBerry OS, people that’ve used a BlackBerry phone before, and those who have a strong love for the BlackBerry system. I found it to be a phone with alright capabilities, and it’s always cool to be able to watch live TV and listen to radio stations on the phone, but the user interface is difficult to parse. It’s not an easy phone to use, especially when you compare it to the rest of the smart phones on the market now. read more →
In the end, the BlackBerry Style isn’t a terrible $100 smartphone from Sprint.
It’s definitely aimed at consumers and it doesn’t have much of a place in the enterprise market. For the younger crowd already hooked on BBM and RIM’s famous BlackBerry keyboards, the Style is a great option. Add to that Sprint’s solid network and extremely competitive rate plans, and you’re good to go. read more →
