Comfortably compact and impressively slim, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 looks good and works hard to meet your needs. The newly-found skill makes it the definitive upgrade for anyone coming from a previous generation of the Curves. Even Bold 9700 and 9780 owners, who are trying to steer clear of touchscreen, can give it a thought.
The Curve 9360 is lucky too not having to deal with as much pressure as the flagship Bold 9900. read more →
- Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support
- 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA
- 2.46" 16M-color TFT landscape display of HVGA+ resolution (480x360)
- Full QWERTY keyboard
- Optical trackpad
- BlackBerry Internet Service account is a must to enjoy all phone features
- Poor still camera quality
- Bland text-only submenus
- Rigid call and navigation keys
- Fixed focus camera
It's like we already met with the Curve 9380. Since its a completely different approach to the Curve lineup there is just no basis for parallels with older Curves. But remembering the previous BlackBerry OS 7-based smartphones we had, the Torch 9860 will surely ring a bell. So, the new Curve 9380 is not something we havent seen so far, it's a downgrade on an already familiar phone. But surprisingly, this actually works. read more →
- 3.2" 16M-color TFT touchscreen of HVGA resolution (360 x 480 pixels)
- Quad-band GSM support and tri-band 3G with HSDPA
- Single-core 800MHz processor
- 512MB RAM
- BlackBerry OS v7
- BlackBerry Internet Service account is a must to enjoy all the phone features
- No physical QWERTY keyboard (a potential deal breaker for a BlackBerry)
- No videocalling and no front facing camera either
- No Flash support for the web browser
- No FM radio
The Curve 9360 fails to keep pace with other consumer smartphones. It's woefully inadequate for all but the most basic communication needs. read more →
- Bright, crisp display
- Affordable price
- A touchscreen would've been more intuitive
- Unacceptable for web browsing
- Subpar camera
- Middling battery life
The RIM BlackBerry Curve 9360 is no longer a standout smartphone, but it's a solid budget device for the BlackBerry faithful. read more →
- UMA-based Wi-Fi calling is excellent
- Slim and sleek
- Fantastic battery life
- Loud speakerphone
- Great keyboard.
We think it says it all that when writing the pros and cons, we were overloaded with pros and struggled to think of cons to list. Yes, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 is a budget device compared to the premium Bold 9900, but we can't help thinking that considering the cost of it (£230 on PAYG), it's actually a million times better value for money.
It's still not all there. RIM could have fitted it with a quicker processor and larger battery, but then that would take this into the premium league and would negate the whole point of having more expensive handsets - although other manufacturers seem to manage to do it. read more →
